Alumni Spotlight: Fall 2020
Kabish Shah

Meet Kabish Shah ‘11: Project Manager at Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. & President of the CCBC Alumni Association

“CCBC strengthened my foundation to help me become the person and leader I am today.”

Kabish Shah graduated CCBC in 2011 with an A.A. in Engineering and an A.S. in Mathematics. He attended UMBC on a full scholarship and received a bachelor's in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering. He later returned to UMBC to receive his master's degree in Engineering Management. In his position as Project Manager at Whiting-Turner, Kabish leads on-site and project teams on major construction and is currently managing a project to build a 46,000 sq. ft. Innovative Learning Center at Loyola Blakefield.

Kabish has facilitated and instructed Robotics workshops for NExT (NASA's Engineering Exploration Training) funded by NASA's BEST (Beginning, Engineering, Science and Technology) providing educators with NASA’s unique experimental learning opportunities and STEM experiences to students and high school teachers. He currently serves as a senior judge for VEX and FRC Robotics.

Kabish is a proud CCBC alumnus. While a student, he received several scholarships and career guidance that helped him on his path to success. From day one, CCBC's vision to make learning powerful, goals attainable, and community paramount have inspired him to stay connected. Kabish joined the Alumni Association board in 2017. “Serving on the board has been an excellent opportunity to give back and support younger CCBC generations to learn and succeed.”

As President of the Alumni Association board, Kabish's goal is to promote the CCBC experience and celebrate student and alumni success stories, a vibrant voice for all to hear. When asked what advice he would give to fellow alumni, Kabish shared, "Come back to CCBC, be involved. Reconnect with the clubs and organizations you were involved with while you were at CCBC. Sharing your post-CCBC experiences with current students will help them navigate their way."

You can meet Kabish Shah, Ann-Marie Thornton, and friends virtually on the Alumni Facebook page, October 14, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. for our first CCBC Alumni Live @5, a new monthly virtual alumni get-together.
